Jacob Sitati who serves as acting secretary and special events
coordinator, made the announcement through an invitation that was
sent out Tuesday to the association’s membership and other
potential community members.
“The purpose of this meeting will be to elect new officers
who will continue to plan and organize CAKP activities in the future”
said Sitati.
We would like to see CAKP continue with this vision and expand
to other areas all with the goal of encouraging continued professional
association within the Kenyan community and the Chicago community
at large, added Sitati.
Since inception over five years ago, CAKP has played a vital role
in linking Kenyan professionals in Chicago. In the past year, CAKP
organized a number of professional events, hosted honorable guests
and collaborated with other organizations such as United Kenyans
of Chicago (UKC) in community-based efforts.
